Back them up on to another hard drive, then burn them on to discs, then make another copy! I've been there once before, it's a painful memory.

I'm mixed on this one. I like the initial impact, but I'm not so sure about more detailed involvement. There's quite a lot going on, and I can't help but think the solo rock on the shore has more impact on the composition than would be ideal. Its tempting to try a square crop of the upper part. This would change the image substantially, and lose the flow/mirroring on the left side, but it would give more emphasis to three key components what would then maybe work better together - I currently think they are fighting for attention which is at odds with the overall tranquility of the scene. You may think this is total rubbish - and you could well be right!

Very nicely framed with the tree branches in the foreground to give the depth of the photo! I'm never good at taking landscape shots.

Your Dad didn't tell you the importance of backing up files? Being an architect he knows how critical it is to back up files, just ask him how many times he had to go back to retrieve some older version of drawings from backups? I had to do it many times.... :-)

Nice pic ; I only wonder if more detail of the bark would help (though given light etc. that would push ISO & steadiness ...).
